About Air Time
Homegrown. Rider-run. Competitive and inclusive. Enduro and downhill-focused. Launched during a global pandemic. This is the Air Time Bike Team of Redmond, Washington.
This diverse and unique team of riders, ranging in age from 11-18, started as an idea born out of a need for fresh air and activity, a sense of belonging and comradery, in the midst of calls for social distancing and stay at home orders. In August of 2020, after building and riding local trails together, Nolan Setcavage and Dane Edens decided they wanted to join a bike team. But they didn’t want to join a team that had established rules, a schedule of practices, or an out-of-the-way location. They wanted the freedom to ride how they wanted, when they wanted, and compete how they wanted.
The question Nolan’s parents posed was, “Why not just create your own team?” Since it only took a couple of riders to create a team, the two boys put their heads together and launched Air Time Bike Team. Two team members quickly grew to four, then eight, then fifteen. Team jerseys, sponsors, and race planning quickly followed! In less than two years, riders were podiuming and moving up the ranks in the local racing scene. Today, Air Time is living the mission of the team- racing, building trails, giving back to the community and seeking fun two-wheeled adventures. Ready to join? Reach out!
